There is a lot of talk on fitness related social media and in the public domain about identifying and understanding your goals and reasons why you do what you do. Why do you train? Why do you play your sport? Why do you choose to eat well, track macros or take supplements?

The purpose of this blog is to try to provide some clarity and understanding of goal setting and self reflection, and discuss the positive (and negative) impact it can have on mindset and mental health.

Goal setting and reflection, when done effectively, can be the key to keeping you motivated to train, to push hard and head to the gym even when you may be faced with adversity.

I have been trying to work on this confidence and accepting that it is ok to fail, because it is ok to fail! Use the training you have to develop who you want to become as an athlete and as a person.

Train with a purpose and know that sometimes training will be for failing but these training hours will add up to help you get better every day if you chose to invest your time and effort to use these hours effectively.
