Flavour? The elephant in the room...

So you’ve done your research, you’ve read about the benefits, you’ve set yourself a goal and then you make your first Green Stacks drink...Hmmm, Yuk. Don’t worry, you are not the first person to fall at the first hurdle. But Lucy of LBPilates is here to tell us that you can take Greens Stacks and enjoy taking it as much as you enjoy the benefits from it.

Can’t face the taste

Before we delve into all the ways that we can shake up this greens "stack" powder without changing any of its healthy beauty let’s talk about why some of us just can’t face the taste!

I am a Pilates instructor and Forest school teacher. I pride myself on my healthy and physical lifestyle and like to ensure that what I put into my body only enhances that, yet the wellness industry which I am in baffles me.

In this time where the science of nutrition is so complex it really is so hard to keep up to date on how to maintain a healthy diet. The sheer amount of conflicting information available can send you into turmoil, not knowing what to eat or drink - how much or when?

Every day scientists are discovering how foods and supplements can have such a huge positive and potentially harmful effect on our well being. One day I’m spending hours making Insta' worthy date protein balls the next I’m being informed the (natural) sugar and (coconut) oil content in them is too high and I should not be eating them regularly.  How then is it possible to keep up? So we decide to take a supplement, to keep homeostasis balanced, we are doing something good right!?

I confess I was a sucker for these wonderful, sweet and moreish health shakes, easily available and I look like I’m doing the right thing. However they aren’t all that they are cracked up to be. Unlike Green Stacks, they have been manipulated and compromised by chemicals. This article here demonstrates exactly what we don’t what to have in our “healthy” shake, 10 ingredients that should never be in your protein powder and the same goes for supplements.

In addition to this, Greens Stacks takes a refreshing stand and refuses to use chemical sweeteners, it lets the ingredients do their work not the flavour. A small amount of juicy peach flavouring and the natural sweetener Stevia is all that Green Stacks add to the product to alter its taste. Other than this you really are receiving nothing but the 13 scientifically-backed, potent natural ingredients from around the world. Put together to make 1 incredible health supplement with boundless benefits and life changing results from taking only a few times. Green Stacks is not a mixture of a few so-so active ingredients, a couple of chemicals a splash of bulking agent etc, which tastes just yummy!

When I first starting taking my 2 scoops of Green Stacks once a day after breakfast I really did like it, I saw huge improvements to my energy and post gym recovery time, I also loved how my skin and hair was looking so much better. One day I was stacking the dish washer in the evening with both my own and my husband's morning Green Stacks shaker and it hit me. The smell of green stacks flew up my nose turning my stomach and changed my whole routine. I tried the next day to get my normal dose down and I just couldn’t. So I took a break.

Shake it up!

Well, as I mentioned before, I wasn’t taking Green Stacks for a nice morning alternative to my cup of tea I was taking it to feel the difference, to be a better me so I had shake things up, literally!

I admit, naively I thought that adding something myself to the shake would lessen its powers. But just like watering down a vodka with tonic would not alter the alcohol content, mixing up my  Green Stacks isn’t going to affect its potential. Here are some of my successful shake ups!

·         Adding splash of cordial (I prefer apple and black current)

·         Mixing up with your favouring fruit juice - orange for the citrus is nice!

·         Try adding a squeeze of Sweet Freedom Choc Shot (natural fruit extract, vegan and gluten free and not palm oil!) I love this stuff

·         Mixing with my favourite chocolate protein powder – 2 shakes in one!

·         Mixing it in with my porridge with some raisins and cinnamon powder

·         Sprinkled with linseed on my overnight chai seed oats.

What I would recommend avoiding, is mixing it with scrambled eggs, that is strictly only for DR Zeuss!

I am now able to have just 1 scoop of green stacks every day and not do I just like it, I look forward to it!
